      Greetings

      Been a while 😆

Car: 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer GL 1.3L Automatic.

Previously I had a problem which got solved here:
      http://www.ericthecarguy.com/kunena/8-Service-and-Repair-Questions-Answered-Here/47427-high-pitched-squeal-noise-on-cold-start

But right now I have a new problem that could be related to this previous problem

Here is a video I found that shows a similar problem I’m having

      http://youtu.be/SRsnj62FWh0

      To keep it detailed:
      – When I come to a stop and brake + the AC is on, a slight vibrating feeling to chirping noise is experienced. It feels somewhat like something is going to snap off or die.
      – When I turn off the A/C, the noise lessens a bit and when I turn off the fans, it starts to diminish gradually.
      – There are two cooling fans behind the radiator I think, one of them is spinning while the other is stand still,I turned on the fan and AC at maximum levels but the other fan still won’t spin.
      – The other spinning fan, at some points starts to spin faster for a duration and then goes back to spin slowly and keeps doing this pattern over time.
      – The noises generated become instantly worse when some kind of thing “triggers” or “kicks” in or I could say when the spinning fan starts to go faster.
      – The temperature gauge is normal( beneath mid a little ).
      – I tried to raise the car’s temperature to see if the other fan would kick in and work but I was unable to keep it raising the temperature steadily since the cooling was already too damn good that it was too hard getting 2 cm of the needle to move up.

Another note is that the symptoms go away as soon as I rev up but come back when the revs go down.
I’m also unsure manufacturer wise if the second fan should be spinning when the fan is turned on or maybe it would only spin if the temperature went above middle.

      Anybody had this problem before?
      Would appreciate any useful clues P;

You could have a seized fan.Raise the hood. Turn on the ac
and check the fans.both should run. Can you spin the fans by
        hand?

The noise you’re hearing is caused by a vibrating A/C belt. Either the belt tensioner is not strong enough to hold the correct tension on the belt, the compressor is failing or the high side A/C pressure is too high. The squeak you hear is the belt losing grip on the pulleys. Between firing pulses and compressor pulsation makes the belt vibrate.

The condenser fan should be running when the A/C is on…is it?

Once you know what the high side pressure is you will know if that is the cause.

Make sure the compressor and bracket bolts are tight. If the belt tensioner is spring loaded it’s probably due for replacement along with the A/C belt. If the tensioner is not spring loaded but a manual adjustment you will need to replace the belt and tighten it correctly.

Sorry for letting you guys wait, I had college + exams….etc

Anyways I made a little discovery today,I decided to drive approx 52km(approx 32.3 miles) from home to college without turning on the AC or fans, the instance I came into parking, I started hearing the chirp noises and about +4.7% vibrations again, mind that gear was in D/R when this occurred. I also noticed that if I change gear into N or P the noise fades away, the noise also fades away when in D/R and I rev the engine but comes back at low revs. The occurrence of this noise isn’t much, more like happens 30% ~ 40% of the times on a stop/brake/park.

I tried spinning the suspected faulty fan and it spins freely unlike the working one, it spins with a little bit of resistance.

I’m still not that familiar with engine compartment components but could it be related to some sort of clutch components? can some clutch components generate bird chirping sounds? perhaps some sort of bearings as well?
