Website updates – vidoes page FIXED!!

hello all,

Last nights maintenance was successful. Attachments should work now as well as a notification that you have a PM are enabled unless you have turned them off. The forum was updated and seams to me working quicker and the template is new, I will be tweaking it as i go. if you run into any issues let me know in this thread and we will go from there. Also the rank avatars are broken for the time being, will look into them more after the holidays.

Onyx, glad the maintenance went well. Everything is very blue. Its hard to see whats new.
can you turn the new sign a different color? Also the forum seems to just blend together
when reading posts.maybe a tweak there or maybe its still being worked out.

yeah ill take a look at that next week sometime to see if i can adjust the template to better color qualities. I agree it is really blue but did not have much time to renovate it.

Seems like the font size has gotten quite a bit smaller. perhaps I need stronger reading glasses. LOL

changed up the template a bit and added tabs on top for easier navigation where you can see a lot of things you all are asking for.

1/3/2012 Today the private message system was updated. The default email setting should be that if you are offline then it will send the email otherwise its a popup if you are online on the forum. If you want to check the settings or have someone out there that is still not getting email notifications check their setting and the way you can is go to the private messages link at the top of the forum and then at the bottom there is a settings link. In that link there is all the email settings for the message system.

Wow ….these recent changes (for me at least) have been very frustrating!! The new site is a LOT slower than the older one: slower sign in, slower to start up, slower to load pages. Every time I try to sign in I get at least one or two “page will not load” notices. I’m pretty sure its not my hardware at this end ….haven’t changed anything here for 8 months or more: running Win7, on a 1.8 ghz notebook with 4GB ram, on a high-speed internet line. Slow using both Explorer 8 and Google Chrome …and I doing something wrong at this end???

I’m sorry you are having issues with this but the old site had a lot of database issues and search issues that would crash the site in an instant. it could be slower at times because we are on shared hosting atm. But for me and a lot of other users out there there is no speed issues and the site runs quite quickly. just depends on what you have on your computer and how your system runs that affects it the most. Try clearing out your cache and see if ti helps at all. i know running windows 7 on a slower machine like a 1.8 ghz single processor and 4 gb ram shared with the video card can be slow. but i have tested this site on several browsers and very many computers running different operating systems and have yet to see a huge issue (windows xp, windows 7 all versions, on mac’s, and several linux o/s’s).

might be internet speeds too, might look into that. the new site has not been up for 8 months so i would have to say its might be your internet speed or your dns server you are tied too being slow. try changing it to 8.8.8.8 (googles) and it should be a lot quicker.

New for 4/18/2013:

Server upgrade now ETCG is on it won server and is much faster with the update. Will take up to 24 hours to get the DNS to catch up and will take a bit of time till i get the SSL completely configured. 👿

Obviously new site redesign. We took several of your thoughts in the past on doing this update. As you can see there are several new sections of information in the menu bar on top and i encourage you to take a look at that. The Forum text seems to be too bright (at least to me) and i will work to change that. Enjoy the site!

Hey onyx. Your work looks great. I haven’t found a problem yet. Not sure about the orange but I can get used to it. Not real happy about upgrading my browser but am more concerned about others with older operating systems.
