Web Site Slow Load

It seems like sometimes this website is very slow to load and often doesn’t load at all for me. At the lower left of my screen is says “waiting for ericthecarguy.com”. I notice this on multiple computers/devices so I don’t think the issue is on my end. Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

It is not just you.

When i was shaped to 256kbps the site would take 5 minutes to load a text topic.

To be sure it wasn’t my ISP i pinged http://www.ericthecarguy.com(50.61.227.22)

So i wasn’t losing packets along the way and ping is normal for me since i am in australia and this is an american server, sites with pings of 350ms respond faster than this forum ATM.

Could be a database issue, server is overloaded, is shared with another site or lacking resoruces.

But i was going to wait a while before asking why the site is a little slow.

Yep, i am running into a few issues too with posting replies.

I’ve noticed this too and we have been working on ways to make the site faster, in fact just last month we did a couple of things to help but at this point I’m wondering if it’s an issue with our hosting company as they seem to be hit and miss. This is one of the things on MY list that I’d like to address ASAP because I’m on the forums as much if not more than anyone and the long load times really effect me personally. Hang in there we’re still a work in progress.

I have also experienced this from time to time. I have a pretty powerfull computer and a very strong signal. I would guess it is a problem with the web hosting company.

the only time ive ran into slow load times is when i was previewing a topic prior to posting or when using the search feature. other than that i haven’t really had much of a problem with the site.
