water pump removal

im taking the waterpump off my Durango. I got all the bolts off and am basicly being held on by the gasket sealant. but I cannot get this part off, im very heasatint about striking it with a mallet..maybe.. any ideas??

Either use a dead blow hammer to easily hit it or use a piece of scrap wood
and tap on that with a ball peen or hammer.

Check again to make sure you didn’t miss a bolt. It does happen. You can usually find an edge to pry against with a prybar. As long as you aren’t attacking it with a hammer like Thor, you should be OK.

yea thanks guys. I tapped it with a mallet to get er off. came loose immediately. heres some pics from the fiasco
