Want information on front diff in 98 Chevy k1500

Are there any Chevy guys who can tell me what about the differential that came stock on the front of these trucks?

I am curious because I swear that there is some sort of limited slip or locker in the front. I’ve heard that there aren’t after-market lockers available because of the weak case.

I was playing in the sand today going up some hills with my buddy in his 4Runner.

He has open diffs front and rear and was spinning the front left and the right rear. My truck has a G80 locker in the rear, and what I thought was an open front diff but I was spinning all 4 tires every time I got stuck. I expect both rear wheels to turn but why am I getting a locking action in the front diff?

Any information that might be helpful would be appreciated, I’m always willing to learn.
