2005 honda civic ex 1.7 . Just recently had head gasket replaced timing belt etc. Got it back from shop seem like it ran good. Two days later started acting up. Engine cold it will run fine for the first 20 or 30 mins. But after that it won’t go pass 4000 rpm s. Acts like rev limiter is kicking in. Like I can’t even pass a car or go up a hill. But if I cut it off and crank it back up it acts right again for next 20 mins or so . My mechanic say might be something with vtec solinoid. Maybe. Anybody had this before or knows what’s wrong please let me know

Are any codes stored to tell us what the computer is seeing wrong? Did this problem
happen after the work was done? You may want to check your timing marks. It might

I really get tired of a VTEC issue being the default when it comes to a Honda performance problems. It’s a very misunderstood system.
If it’s only been a few days since they worked on it, I say take it back and make it their problem. They may not have put something back together correctly and it came loose and is causing the issue. You paid good money to have your vehicle repaired, they should complete the job.
