Volvo Blower motor wheel

I need a new wheel/fan for a 1986 Volvo 244 DL. I do not need the blower motor, just the wheel/fan. I can’t find it anywhere. No parts stores carry it and the dealer wasn’t much help.

A new wheel is pretty darned expensive at a parts store have you considered getting one out of a salvage yard?

This finds all kinds of salvage yard parts for me… It searches the database of 58 salvage yard around me…

Alas, I did a search but could not find a Volvo older than 1993….

I haven’t found a parts store that carries one so I don’t even know a ballpark price. I don’t want to get one from a salvage yard cause it takes about an hour and a half just to get to the HVAC stuff in the dash.

I know what you mean about those things…. My neighbor wants me to help him replace his Heater core on his 1993 Volvo station wagon… It is only around a 9 hour job… They designed the car around the heater core so I know how bad it can be to get into Volvo Climate Control units!!! 😛

thats understandable although sometimes you get lucky and arrive at a car already disassembled

I don’t have a smart phone. I am not going to a salvage yard for this because, it is a common fault on these cars and it takes an hour or more just to get to it.

RockAuto didn’t have the wheel/fan but they did have the Blower Motor for half of what Napa is selling it for (after my discount.)

Well thanks. I haven’t pulled the dash apart yet so maybe I’ll get lucky and the old fan will be reusable. I doubt it by the sound of this thing though

Found it at a dealership on the opposite side of the country. It should get to me in about four days. Thanks for the help
