I have a question about one of Eric’s battery testing tips.

“In fact, you can do a little trick if you suspect a bad cable. Take a set of jumper cables and bypass the suspected cable. If you suspect a faulty positive cable, you can just hook one end of the jumpers to battery positive and the other to the positive terminal on the starter.”
Just to be totally clear, I’m going to leave the battery completely connected and I’m going to clamp one jumper to the positive terminal post and the other jumper to where the positive cable is connected to the starter?
After letting my car to sit and cool off for 8 hours or so, the engine is slow to turn over. This is with a fully charged battery. If I’m driving around with a couple stops and starts here and there, the engine turns over immediately when started. I suspect that the cable is the culprit.
If I run this test with a cold start and the engine turns over immediately than my suspicion is probably correct?
