Video suggestion/ question(buying a former rental)

Hi, so recently I’ve been thinking of trading my Pontiac G6 in for a newer and more reliable car. And as I have been looking on many different sites saying don’t buy rentals and just as many say its a good choice. I have had great experiences with the few rentals I’ve owned, But a few of my friends have too owned former rentals some with the same experiences as mine, while a couple of them have had terrible experiences with them. Having some of the common problems of a car that has been beaten mechanically. So at the end of the day is it worth buying a rental and risking purchasing a beaten rental car or not take the risk and buy one that has never been rented?

It’s probably less risky than buying from a private seller/dealer, unless the private seller treated it like a baby (in which case you will be paying a hefty premium). Issues due to misuse will show up right away.

TL;DR: They should have a binder full of Maintenance records. Cross check them. Look for issues and walk away if there are any you can’t fix within budget.
