Hey Eric, and ETCG fans.
I have a suggestion for you Eric for a video. Maybe it would be more of a ETCG1 video.
Topic: Over Filling your oil
I would be very interested in hearing your thoughts on this. Case in point: I took my 2008 Ridgeline to the dealer for an oil change. I noticed on the bill they charged me for 5L of oil. Having done the OC on this vehicle before I know it holds 4.5L (ish), I believe that is with the filter…. J series 3.5.
PERSONALLY I think that it should be fine. A friend that was looking under the hood with me said I should drain it out. Personally I don’t think its going to be a problem as it was only 1-2mm up over the full mark.
I know grossly over filling your oil is very bad for the engine and you will start to blow out seals and what not… but half a litre?
I searched the internet for answers and as usual, I get a lot of mixed answers. People saying a little but wont hurt, some saying GET IT OUT NOW OMG END OF THE WORLD type stuff.
… but I’d really like to hear your opinion on the subject Eric!
Thanks for reading.
