Hi everyone, long time watcher of ETCG but new to forums.
I have come across an odd problem with my 1995 BMW 325i…
The car shakes between 26-30mph ONLY when accelerating.
The harder I am accelerating, the worse the vibration.

      For example –
~5500rpm at WOT in 1st it sounds and feels like my car will never move again
~3000rpm at WOT in 2nd it sounds/feels pretty rough, but not as bad as first
~2200rpm at WOT in 3rd it is a fairly minor vibration.

If I stay constant at that speed, there is no vibration until I accelerate again.
It has become pretty troublesome because I accelerate through this point every time I stop at a stop sign or red light.

Thank you guys in advance! Stay dirty >:)

Try rotating your tires to see if the problem gets better or same.
Also check tire pressure. More in this link.

could be inner cv joint (s) are worn and need replaced.

As far as I know, these are rear-wheel drive.

I would check wheel balancing and engine/transmission mounts to start with.

definitely check what Evil-I said first, however the 325i has independent rear setup with cv joints.

                Thanks guys.
I have rotated the wheels since noticing it and it has had no change – however I do have directional tires so I can technically only half-rotate them.

I have not had the wheels balanced, they are not factory wheels but I have service records saying the wheels were balanced quite a few times in the past 10000 miles or so.

About the CV joints, they seem to look original and horribly corroded into place (can’t wait…) but I have them in my trunk and I will report back if that fixes the problem. Thanks again for your suggestions guys.
