Valve Adjustment

      Hi all,

Is it a general agreement that the dealer (which I’ve been using) for valve adjustment to do properly is the best bet, or any professional mechanic can do this well on a Honda? Could someone point me to a video of an engine running that needs valve adjustment? I know some people do adjustment every 30k regardless of how engine sounds, which is probably a waste of money since the manual says to go by valve sound.

      Thanks!

If the valves are not noisy leave them be. any mechanic

You need someone that’s practiced to do the valve adjustment. If it’s not done correctly engine damage can result. That said Honda only recommends valve adjustments if the valves are noisy. If your engine is quiet and runs smooth, you don’t need a valve adjustment.

Thanks Eric, wish I knew how the engine should sound that needs adjustment. Also how to find an experienced tech that can do these well.
