Hello there from France!!
So:
2001 Volvo V70 front wheel drive with automatic Aisin-Warner 5speed gearboxI just bought this car for cheap, hoping fixing the several issues it have. Body and interior in very good condition.
>>
Engine check engine light on
ABS light on
ESP light on
tacho gauge crazy
gearbox overrev between 2 and 3rd gear>> After replacement of front left ABS sensor, ABS and ESP lights off, tacho gauge works now properly, but gearbox is always in trouble.
The gearbox don’t find the third gear.from start, it engage 1st, then 2nd, then it over revs and don’t engage the third. Then, if the car is enought fast, the gearbox engage 4 and 5. But it don”t work properly, and after severals kilometers, it go to security mode, locked in 4th gear.
After some reasearchs on internet I see I’m not alone with this issues. I have a TCM faul code TCM-0023 speed sensor signal missing, TCm0024 speed sensor signal defects
I have replaced all transmission fluid with correct oil, correct level now too
I have replaced the 3 solenoids
I have updated the TCM sofware at the local Volvo dealer
and today I have replaced the twin sensors on the gearbox (one on engine shaft, one on axles shaft). They are sold toghether for 300USD (260 Euros)
but no results.I’m in trouble now, and something is strange too about the TCM faults codes.
0023 is speed sensor signal, but also rpm signal too!But in a way, the gearbox sensor on engine shaft read the engine rpm.
Any ideas are welcome, I don’t have 5000USD to buy a new rebuild unit, and I don’t think this gearbox is dead.
Thanks!
