I purchased this 2002 kia two years ago It has 92,400 miles. That was my first mistake,. It has been running good except when it rains allot then it runs rough until its warm . It runs fine then. I found this automitive wire drier and wiped the wires as good as possible .Some of the plastic covers or heat shield has deteriorated off when I touched it .I sprayed as much wires as I could . Today it’s been running like the wires are wet even when the engine is at run temp. That was my second mistake . The previous owner left no maint.record so I have no Idea when the plugs were last changed. Several months ago the van was diagnosed by a cert, mechanic it had a bad MAF sensor . It also had a code for EVAC Teny tiny leak in ECS.. The seal on the gas cap looks ok. I am now getting code’s( 175 = Too rich bank 2,)(,172= too rich bank 1,) 305= cylinder 5 misfire detected. Can I get someones expert advice .I wonder If I can even make these repairs. Thank’s

hello friend! 😀 i donno if this will help you or not but i have a cylinder 5 missfire. i changed the spark plugs, but it didnt fix it. so i changed the ignition coils and it didnt fix it. i went to a mechanic and he said there is a leak so he tighten the screws up and he said its good so i didnt pay any thing. but the car is the same. it turned out its a bent valve. the cost he gave me is 750 to fix it. dont be scared just check all of the basic easy things u can do at home and if u dont know whats the problem go to a good mechanic. DO NOT GO TO THE DEALER :p

Hi Moe 1995 and thanks for your reply . Since this post I have been watching some video’s of Eric’s . The misfire could be caused also by a vacuum leak . Just one more thing I can check for . I appreciate your input . Sorry yours wasn’t a easy fix . And your right about not going to a dealer ,now your talking about thousand’s of dollars lol.!
