      Eric,
I’ve always struggled with managing used oil, antifreeze and other fluids. I do side work from time to time and it’s gotten to the point where I won’t even take simple fluid change jobs anymore.
I remember when you were working out of your old place and I see that you’ve stepped it up to a purpose built building. So I would assume you’ve gone from getting rid of it somehow to just having a truck come and suck it out of a tank.
What worked for you when you were working out of your old shop? Any tips? Especially, if you have more than 5 gallons lying around.

      Thanks,
      Todd

I have the same set up I did at the old shop, 2 55 gallon drums. One for oils, one for coolant. There was a company that would come and take the waste oil. They used to pay me even, but over time they stopped coming because 55 gallons was not enough for them to come out and get my oil.

Now I give all my waste oil to the trucking company that was formally owned by my landlord. They use it in their waste oil heater in the winter. My coolant barrel is getting full. Not sure how I’ll deal with that, but I’ve talked to the trucking company next door and I believe I can use their service when it comes by to pick up theirs.

BTW many auto parts stores take in used fluids. You might consider that option.

I have thought of making a video on this topic, but the timing hasn’t been right yet.
