I have a Megellan Maestro 3225 GPS Unit i bought back in 2010. I recently bought a Garmin nuvi 1100. I was going to give my old Megellan unit to a friend. The problem is the GPS’ latest maps are 2010 and Megallan seems to have discontinued the unit thrus no longer updating maps. It runs the Windows CE OS within the GPS. I was wondering if there was any alternative maps that i could use on it? Perhaps a way to get TomTom or Garmin maps on it? All car GPS Units like this run Windows CE do they not?

This won’t help you with your GPS, Windows CE is well windows after all, but I’d get away from the dedicated GPS for anything other than marine applications. If you have a smart phone and use the GPS on that you are better off. This post is older so you may already have found a fix. If not I would check the computer boards.

          Waste of money.
Best ever SELF UPDATING GPS is large screen phone with Waze app. Or, even Google Maps. For voice guidance, if you have Aux in your stereo, get Knivo Bluetooth adapter. Also is very nice for streaming music off the phone.
Phone can be easily set anywhere on the dash for those who “must see” all the turns.
          Data plan consumption is minuscule.
