so after changing the water pump thermostat flushing the radiator and putting in all new coolant “extended life green” i still have a slight overheat issue the car warms up and sometimes will run normal and stay at or below 200 but sometimes while im driving it creeps past 200 to about 210-215 then it cools back down to 200 or so.

btw my thermostat is a fail safe like suggested so it opens up and allows coolant flow no matter what happens.

Sounds like air in the system from all the work you
did. Try bleeding the cooling system.

ive used the bleed screw on top of the upper hose and ive done it the old fashioned way by removing the radiator cap and squeezing the radiator hose to remove air im fairly confident that theres no air in my system also the coolant elbow as common problem on this engine isnt damaged or leaking in anyway that i can see it appears to be brand new

The contamination that is clogging your radiator could also be clogging your radiator.

Sounds like you might need to flush the system extremely well.

If this is a 3800 and you are going to flush it again, I would suggest getting the metal elbows. The plastic ones will leak at some point, and sometimes when they start leaking, its hard to tell.

                    Sounds like you got Dex-killed

It doesn’t really sound like an overheat. If it’s only going up a little and not into the red, it might be fine. In fact it could just be the different thermostat you installed.
