I have a 1999 mustang v6 and I get a bad vibration going 45mph – 70mph when I release the gas. But when I press the gas again the vibration weakens or disappears. Now i have no clue what it could be, I asked many people and they cant figure it out.

The car had an aligment, new balanced tires, the bushings on the suspension are fine, axel is nice and tight.

The last things I could think it might be is a engine mount or the torque converter in the trans. And I had someone say they made the U joint pop a few times on the axel, but I could never make it happen when I try.

Have a good look at your engine mounts.

Oh and another thing, when going between 45mph – 70mph I put the car in neutral then tap the gas, but the vibration stays. I can only lose the vibrations at those speeds when in drive and foot on gas.

The vibration will be something that rotates.
Harmonic balancer, drive line, wheels and tires.
rotate the wheels to see if anything change.

Check your driveshaft and the u joints. Do you hear anything or feel the car “buck” when you shift from park into gear?

It’s most likely one or both of your u-joints. U-joints are relatively cheap and pretty easy to install so it would probably be a good place to start.

It was a bad trans mount.

Did you replace it? how did you spot it?
