So here is something fun, my turn signals only function when the hazard button is pushed in, the hazards do not work but when the button is pushed and you use the turn signal they work in whichever direction you push it. I have so far replaced the flasher relay, twice to be sure I didn’t get a bad one, changed the multi-function switch and checked the fuses. made sure all the wires were properly connected and firmly seated and adjusted steering wheel tilt, I am pretty stumped with this so any input would be nice or a place to start.

99 mountaineer 160k miles v6 4.0 recently replaced radio with aftermarket and fuel pump, as well as parts listed above.

        2 possibilities come to mind.

First, When did this issue begin?
Did your turn signals function prior to the radio install and after, did they function after the fuel pump replacement?

Second, does the vehicle have a trailer harness?
There may be an issue with that.

It does have a trailer harness and I did the fuel pump and radio install while waiting for fuel pump in the mail so it worked prior to both being installed. that’s when it occurred, I used a an aftermarket wiring harness on the radio and just connected the wires to the coordinating color

Edit: worded that weird. I did the radio install while waiting for the fuel pump in the mail, so I didn’t really try the turn signals.

Logic then dictates that either the radio install or fuel pump replacement may well be the cause of your issue.
My thought would be, starting with the easiest, disconnect the after market radio and wiring and reinstall the original unit back to factory setup and see if that resolves the issue.
Some vehicles don’t play well with aftermarket radio’s and harnesses.

If your blinkers still do not function correctly, I’m afraid you’ll need to drop the fuel tank again and look for wiring damage around where the fuel tank is situated.
It’s possible you may have pinched a harness.

Luckily I cut an access panel to reach the fuel pump to make future replacements easier so No more tank dropping for me. I will start with the radio and see. Thanks for the response!

                  Perhaps not so lucky..
                  If it isn’t the radio….
You’ll need to inspect the area around the fuel tank for wiring that may have been damaged during the reinstall of the tank, in this case the tank will need to be dropped if necessary.
Yes, having the access panel will make servicing the fuel pump in the future much easier.
But your issue may lie in the wiring around the tank.

I hooked the stock radio back up and that was not the issue. I thoroughly inspected the wires going to the fuel pump. I am 95% sure that it is not related just coincidental as my luck is crap. Now it’s giving me a 41$ 12$ in 06$ mode so just fun with this truck. It all goes south at once eh. Any ways, where should I start? Like no idea where to go from here.

The issue wasn’t so much concerning the fuel pump wiring.
It was more to the possibility that in the process of R&R the fuel tank other wiring may have been damaged.

Yeah while I had it off I inspected all the wiring under the chassis, maybe not all but a good bit, I didn’t see any issues with it. Guess my next step is to start testing connections with the multi meter? Electric stuff sucks especially when you only half know what you’re doing Hah.

My suggestion would be to locate a wiring diagram for your specific vehicle and work from it.
Very easy to get lost trying to follow wire colors.

I googled it to make sure, that is also called the multifunction switch which I already replaced Thanks for your reply though!
