You should need to lock your truck when you insert your key in the lock and turn the key as you open the trunk while your lock is in the locking position. When you turn the key, you will see the lock moving. If It’s not moving, you need to change your key for an on used one. The spring in your lock is probably broken or need to be lubricate.

Do you mean it won’t latch or it won’t lock? If it won’t latch then you may need to adjust the position of the striker on the deck lip (the loop that sticks up on the body). The latch assembly might also be damaged based on your picture. It could have been bent or something if there was a large object placed in the trunk and the lid bungied down on top of it. Lastly, the screws need to be in place in order for the latch to work properly.

Thanks for responding Erick, and yes, it won’t lock, but after a while I got it to lock. I had to super slam the trunk down, but now it looks like the trunk is too sunk down. BTW the picture is showing missing screws because I was in the process of removing the latch, but I still haven’t figure out how to. And since the latch does look beat up, I will be replacing it.
