ive owned a 2006 ford exploder for 3 winters now and have had issues with my heat the whole time. at first it was not to bad but sometimes when coming to a stop at idle i would get freezing cold air. it would get hot again when i accelerated and be normal. it has gradually gotten worse i have replaced the thermostat housing and thermostat already and i have ruled out that. as of today i lose heat about 90% of the time my car is at an idle and every once in awhile i will get a drop in my engine temp gauge on the cluster just as i lose heat. i have also checked many times no water pump leak coolant is full no issues there. i have a remote start but its currently useless because of this issue. i would really like to fix this any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

problem with heat can also be associated with heater core issues, eric has a video about this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcL_0TWeZJY

sometimes they clog up from rust and old buildup and need a flush.

I would start by bleeding the system… there is a chance you have some air pockets in there.
