im not sure how much there the same but i have a 2004 ex v6 lemon i call it lol but mine was acting a little odd shifting second to third i lent the car out for 2 weeks to old friends and needless to say the transmission failed cost about 2900 to rebuild but the shop told me the disc wear and clog the soleniods and theres two filters in the tranismisson a baby cartridge and a baby regular trans filter and they screw up the fluid getting to the trans corect and stuff starts breaking good luck with your car

To be honest without knowing the code there is little I can offer, and I wouldn’t assume it’s a solenoid failure. I will say however that the V6 transmissions of that vintage are prone to failure. It is very important that transmission only gets Honda fluid and that you check the fluid level with the vehicle warm on a level surface with the engine OFF. I see a lot of Honda transmission failures due to improper checking of the fluid level or using the wrong fluid.

There is none without disassembling the whole transmission. I think that is the reason there are so many failures with these transmissions is that all the fluid flows through a small filter that is not serviceable. Eventually that screen gets clogged and 2nd gear doesnt get adequate fluid and the clutch packs burn up.

I have an extra new dual linear solenoid for that exact transmission sitting around that I would love to get rid off for a cheap price. You may have another issue so you need to find out what the specific code is and what it relates to. I wouldnt waste money on a new solenoid if your transmission is on its way out.
