Transmission problems

Ok so i have a 1998 honda accord coupe 3.0 that i bought from some guy…it was driving fine until one day when i put it from park to reverse or ddrive it would hesitate then finally jerk into gear after a few seconds. It would also slip going from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. Now the strangest part about all this is it only does it when the car is first started up once it gets to operating temperature its totally fine. Any ideas what the problem is?

Sounds like low fluid level maybe. always check the simple stuff first

If this has a distributor, maybe oil is getting in the contacts. Might need new trans computer, earlier model has a warm up mode-that might be going bad.
Transmission selonoid? Might be bad too.
Get a tranny scanner might help.

Ok well I topped off the transmission fluid and also added some lucan transmission fluid to it and i overfilled it by just a hair…transmission still acting up until i drive it around for awhile
