Transmission Oil Change?

I just bought a 1997 Honda Accord and I never knew when the cars tranny oil was changed. Should I change it? Need some advice.

When in doubt, I would do it if it were me.

If it’s an auto trans I would make it a habit to change the fluid every 20-30K or so. If you want to get crazy you can do drain/refill 2 or 3 times with driving in between to help flush most of the old fluid out. You’ll probably get 3 or 4 quarts out from the pan. Also USE HONDA FLUID ONLY. Eric points this out in some of his vids. The trans filter is also not serviceable. You have to crack it open the get it out. Ridiculous design if you ask me, especially since the Honda auto trans are known for going bad.

I would change the fluid. As stated above only use
Honda OE fluid.;)
