Transmission Fluid smell into cabin

I had my radiator in my 1997 Volvo 960 at a shop 6 month a go and now I smelling Transmission Fluid smell coming out of my vents when I turn my heater on can anybody help he find out whats going on and thanks for reading my post

My transmission neutral safety switch went out could this be causing the problem or do I have a clogged transmission filter and I seen smoke coming from my engine but it smelled like transmission fluid It came from the front of the car. I’m still checking for leaks (I don’t have a good jack just the triangle jack that came with the car) I haven’t found one on the transmission

Like college man said you would need to check for leaks.

Since you have an automatic transmission and radiator work done recently it’s possible you have a leak at the transmission cooler lines. These go into the radiator and cool the automatic transmission fluid using the radiator (which also cools engine coolant). These would be at the front of the car so the smoke and smell matches. It’s probably the exhaust components or engine and burning and then wafting up to where the cabin intakes are.

See if you can jack it up (safely with stands) and inspect the undercarriage for leaking. Also check the fluid level on the transmission if it has provisions for doing so (like a dipstick for starters).
