transmission and throttle position sensor

Yes, a defective TPS will cause a hard shift but so will a dozen other things. I would have the car scanned to see if there are any fault codes present. That might point you in the right direction.

first I want to thank you for your response.
I did scan , and a code of P0113 . Did come up
indicating that it was the TPS.

it will cause hard shifting as well as irratic shifting, so will a Pressure regulator solonoid, but since you have a code for a wheel speed sensor i would go with that, and it would probably be a easier fix too than a pressure regulator solonoid, most especually if you have a car with the 4T65E or 4T60E trans.
