transmission advice

I’ve got a 2002 Mazda Millenia with an automatic transmission. I’ve been doing general maintenance on the vehicle recently and I’ve come to the transmission. The vehicle has aproximately 115,000 miles on it and I don’t have any real clue as to the vehicle’s previous history with the exception of what I’ve done. At this point would it be a good idea to change the transmission fluid or is it at too high of a risk to develop problems/fail at this point.
