We have a 2000 Honda accord automatic and its acting kinda funny. When putting it into gear it goes into gear a little bit hard. Driving it around for the first few minutes is fine then it wants to start slipping. It does have a P1298 code on it and I have read that sometimes that code can cause the transmission to do some funny things. Also, when driving it shifts into gear kinda hard. I am unsure if this is the transmission itself or if it could be relevant to the code that is pulled currently. I don’t want to dump a bunch of money into sensors when I could just rebuild the transmission or replace it with a used one. Thank you to all who help.

What is the fluid level and condition? Is the D lindicator blinking? What you are describing is very common on these transmissions. The filter will clog when you are driving and after it sits a while debris settles out of filter and will work again till it starts to slip. When the PCM sees a slip it raises line pressure giving you the harsh engagements and shifting. You need to have it scanned with the proper software not a code reader. Let us know what you find.
BradThe fluid is clean and full to where it is supposed to be. I don’t really have the money to have someone scan it, everyone around here want’s to charge an arm and a leg just to hook up a scan tool for 30 seconds. I haven’t noticed the D indicator blinking at all but I have a bad habit of turning on my lights even in the day times (my mom started me on it, telling me that it makes me easier to see in the day time, less likely to get in an accident). I will have to test it tomorrow, since it’s now dark here and it’s currently parked at my parents house. Thank you.
