Thanks for your input, I have a 2000 Honda Odyssey( I have never have towed) lost my first transmission at 50k( under warranty), now out of town lost it again at 150k. Honda installed a rebuilt and added a Honda filter($4600). To make this last longer does just changing the fluid every 30k enough( I did not do it this last time) or adding an external cooler and an additional filter

30k mile change intervals is a good maintenance recommendation. . what people don’t realize is that transmissions work hard and generate alot of
heat. heat = fluid break down. then you loose your lubrication and thats when it gets ugly inside the transmission.C8-)If you change the fluid and
filter every 30k you should get a long life out of it.

So adding an external cooler is an overkill, even Jasper will not do a warranty unless an external cooler is added. Some Honda dealer say it would not hurt.
          Thanks
