I have a 1998 Chevy Silverado K1500 truck(automatic transmission)with 220,000 miles on it. I recently had the valve body replaced due to sticking. I noticed that since they did a flush and put new fluid in the transmission it seems to slip a little bit mostly when shifting to 2nd gear. I have had this entire transmission rebuilt at 150,000 miles due to the seal blew out and ran all the transmission oil into the transfer case.
I was wondering if by adding TransX brand or a good transmission conditioner will help the clutch plates or hurt the transmission? Is conditioner a good idea?

Personally, I don’t believe in transmission additives accept for maybe a seal conditioner to attempt to stop a small seal leak. Have you returned to the shop that changed your valve body and fluid. Maybe they would have a suggestion to your issue.
This is actually a problem that might get better over time… your new fluid is very clean and slippery. Once it accumulates dissolved clutch material (turns black) your clutch packs will have more grabbing power.
The sticking valves could have caused the clutches to burn up. If that happened then you’ll have a loss of pressure causing it to slip.
The only way to know for sure is to check the transmission pressures to see if they’re correct. If not, then you know you need to go back in there.
I don’t believe in a ‘mechanic in a can’ approach. I haven’t seen a lot of success with adding products to fix transmissions.
