Tranny fluid level

After changing my tranny fluid in the 06 Ridgeline Saturday, the level was at the full mark. Today the level is approximately 5mm above the full mark. How much fluid should I drain if at all? Would you just let it ride or could this impair the function of the transmission? I’ve never had this happen before. I’m a bit perplexed.

Five mm (0.2 inches) is not enough to be concerned about.

          Barneyb,

The length from full to low is only about a centimeter, so its half as long as the entire zone. Still should not be concerned?

Well, the reason for not wanting the transmission too full is getting the fluid into moving parts and having it whipped up and aerated. I gotta believe the maker would allow more than 5mm clearance. Plus, where did the 5mm come from? It seems to me that parking anything but level could cause this much of a change. But, if still worried, pull some fluid out.
