I’ve been using valvoline max life synthetic in my Toyota sienna and it seems to work pretty well for me.

Dexron III and Mercon III are easiest to find. Nissan Matic J (never heard of it but never owned a Nissan) would probably be a dealer only item. You can pick up DexIII/MercIII at any autoparts store.

If there is still a powertrain warranty you need to have documents that it was serviced with dealer parts. Other than that I second the valvoline max life fluid.

I’ve also had success with Valvoline Max Life.

The Magnoson Moss warranty act states: “if a particular fluid is required to enforce the warranty, it must be provided to you free of charge as long as there is a suitable alternative available.” This means if the Dextron VI is acceptable, it does not void your warranty as long as it meets SAE spec… I chose Valvoline Max Life for my GM transmission, will be putting it in as soon as I get the system flushed of contaminants.

We use Valvoline Max Life at my shop. I don’t have any personal experience driving with it on a day-to-day basis, but my daily driver is a stick shift.

                    hi,
The Valvoline Max Life has been my choice of oil for my GM vehicle…1996 Opel/Vaxuhall OmegaB….with this oil i did not encounter any problems as i did before with other brands ( i have not used any synthetics..)..
