Tps sensor

      98 grand jeep cheeokee. Wont start unless i unplug the tps sensor. So is the sensor bad?

        1. Have you looked at data on that sensor with scanner?
        2. Any recent work done on it?

            That data should help you some, if nothings show up maybe sensor is bad. I would first check supply voltage to signal if NO data.

              Data shows 17.2 at idle and 60.3 at wot key on engine off. Shouldn’t it show 0 % at idle?

                I try my best to offer good advice instead of guessing and jeeps are not my thing. I will look at my books later when I can. I would suggest yoi compare to another good starting jeep if possible ot atleast another car you have quick access too.

                1. Get it running then plug sensor back in and what happens?

                  Plug it in runs. Drive it sometimes die out. Some days drive it with no problem. Than other days dies out.

                    Does it look like the throttle plate needs to be cleaned?
