I have a 2001 Ram 5.9L V8, with 105k miles. It’s running roughly and while attempting to diagnose the problem I noticed that the TPS is showing 11% when no pressure is on the pedal and 73% at WOT. Is the sensor bad, or are the cables just out of adjustment? They don’t seem to have a lot of slack, but when it’s idling, if you lightly push the gas pedal, it will rev up to 1500 rpm momentarily and then fall back to 700 rpm. If you push slightly harder it will do it again, and on the third time it’ll stay at about 1800 rpm.
I know there’s no issue with my device because on my Grand Prix, it shows the throttle positions accurately. That car does have a drive-by-wire throttle though.
