First some back ground. Am used to ordering Honda OEM parts. Can go to their website, look at parts break down, and order. Can have the parts delivered to my local dealer for free. Free shipping that is.

When trying to get Toyota parts, I have to call my dealer and ask. It is 6pm. Darn, they close at 5:30 pm. Will now have to wait till tomorrow to talk to someone over the phone.

Is there no way to look up Toyota parts online? A way to order, and have it sent to the dealer, to avoid shipping?

I am trying to get a $0.79 light bulb. Everyone online wants to charge $10 for shipping.

Can go down to NAPA and pick an after market one for $0.84.

Am I missing something? Or can you just not order OEM Toyota parts, and have them sent to your dealer?

For a part that costs less than a candy bar (sad, isn’t it?) is it worth that much hassle?

Parts stores often have long life variations of whatever bulbs. may cost a buck more but why not?

Is that just how it is with Toyota? Or have I just not found the secret Toyota website?

You could call during their business hours and ask about ordering online and shipping to the store.
A lot of businesses do that nowadays but how they handle shipping costs is up to each company.

For a lightbulb, I would just go aftermarket. It makes no sense to be 100% reliant on dealer business hours.

With the Toyota, it’s not just light bulbs. Can’t seem to order any Toyota parts. Wish there was an independent mechanic shop around here. Would ask them. I just don’t work on Toyotas that much, and when I do, I always have a hard time getting OEM parts.
