Toyota Corolla 2001-2002 engine hot start misfire

Description :
For these models, I saw on each of these car the same problems. The radio have interference, the engine start with 1 less cylinder that look like misfire and the heater is not hot enough during the winter. The engine sound unbalance with lose of power while accelerating. I supposed It’s a misfire due to a oil leak or coolant on the spark plug but with not symptoms of these 2 problems after investigation. As well, the brake vacuum was less powerful too.

Faulty part :
The faulty part is the radio antenna that short with the car frame. This antenna was nearly entered in the left door frame. When the antenna is complete outside the frame, the misfire and the electrical circuit short disappear. The shortening is created by the electrostatic charge on the radio antenna that receive the radio waves length. So, the bare metal antenna and the radio wire is damage and curve, you need to be replace It by a new.

Way to solve:
Change the antenna for a modern short antenna that is insulated (really hard to find). You need to create one new antenna with the old one. But you can paint the in interior of the frame where the antenna enter in contact. Do not paint this antenna because the metal of the antenna enter in contact with the wire.

End tough. Car is a chain reaction that don’t like to be disturb with faulty parts.
