Tools cost a lot of money in this trade. Most places don’t supply with your own tools. However the benefit is that when you buy tools they belong to you and you don’t have to share. Also these same tools can be used on your own to make cash. 🙂 There are advantages to every scenario.

For any one coming into the trade, you will need to have thousands of dollars worth of tools. $3000 worth of tools is a good starting point. You will need to have things like:

      Tool Boxes

      Impact Wrench

      Air Ratchet

      Impact Sockets

      Wrenches

      Screwdrivers

      Pliers

      Regular Sockets

and most of the commonly used had tools.

There is no argument that the top brands like Snap on, mac, and Matco are top tier quality but their prices can be a big turn off for a lot of people, especially if you are just starting out and don’t have a lot of money to spend on those tools. One of the best ways to get the good stuff without breaking the bank is to shop on ebay and craigslist. You can get the top quality tools at a fraction of the cost! Also, check garage sales and auctions, sometimes people don’t know what they have or are just trying to get rid of the stuff they don’t use anymore. I have bought about 90% of my snap on tools off of ebay and never had a problem. Just some food for thought. P.S. I’ve never had a problem with any of my craftsman tools or with getting their warranty honored.
