People are getting out of hand. I understand that you need to have a place to store your tools in secure and organized atmosphere. However people have gone over board. I’m seeing people who are broke, not making any real money getting boxes for 1000’s of dollars then they get sick of the trade and think they can sell their things back at the original price. Unless you are making a pile of money you don’t need a $15,000 box.

I completely agree with drthrift035. Its a tool box not your hand tools! It should be big enough to hold all of your tools and should definitely lock! Beyond that who cares? Put money into your tools not the box. If you must have one of the big name boxes, check craigslist or see what the tool truck guy has that has been traded. you can get some very good deals from those places. I mean really, if your box cost the same as or more than, your car you must be better with money than I am.

I picked this KRL1032 up from a pawn shop for 3k…. Paid cash…
And all the tools in here… Paid with cash as well…
Wow. That’s a real deal. That looks like way more than $6000 worth of stuff. Amazing, I would like to upgrade to a bigger box like that.
The size of tool box also dictates on if you work at a dealer or indie shop.
Our top techs at the indie shop i work at have huge boxes with side lockers as they need all the space for the specialty tools for certain brand’s of vehicle.
My 3 bay Mac Box is already full and I’m running out of space to store my tools that have the molded cases.
