Hello everyone I am working on a 01 hyundai santa fe 2.4 liter I am replaceing the crank sensor problem is it is located next to the crank with no room to remove without sliding the timing belt out of the way. My question is with the timing belt removed from the cam pulley and slide to the side so i can remove the sensor can i just slide the belt back on or do i have to completely reset the timing marks like i’m doing a timing belt job? Thanks for any help on this.

Ideally, reset timing. If that is too much hassle, you could just make your own timing marks on the belt and all sprockets and when you put the belt back on, make sure your own marks line up.

Arrrghhhh… As far as NOTHING moves, you should be able to, but chances are, it will move. Unless you lock sprockets solid with something. And I am yet to see a timing belt that SIMPLY slides off and then back on.
Is it DOHC? Maybe you can slide only off one sprocket?

Yeah, mark everything, belt and sprockets with paint even if you think you can slide the belt off.
