timing is off how do I set it help please

So me and my pops recently changed a blown head gasket on his 2001 honda accord its a v6 3.0 vtec and we got everything put back together but now when we started the car we heard a ticking or pinging sound so I’m assuming the timing is off I’m confused on how to set the timing since this car has no distributor I’d like to get a good idea of how to do this before I mess with it since its a interference engine thanks for your help

Are you getting any codes/CEL illuminated?

I have seen timing off by one or two teeth throw a code.

Also, how did you replace the head gasket without removing the timing belt and looking for the marks on the belt gears?

You have to line up the timing marks. This video should help.

Was getting a manifold pressure code it was a dirty sensor cleaned it no ok my dad changed the gasket but didn’t mark the belt pretty much just took off the belt I’m pretty sure it’s off I’ve heard that this car has three timing marks to look for but I’m not sure if I need to rotate the engine

Yes you are correct. 3 locations two on the camshaft gear sprockets and one on the crank. Watch the vids. Dont let the rear cam roll either. It will easily move out of position…zip ties help the cams from rolling…
