Timing belt 03 TL

I just started changing the timing belt on a 03 TL but since it was taking so long since last I took the crank pulley, yesterday I try to move the crank to the arrow so I could replace the belt but the wedge was out so I spin the crank without the valves spinning so now I don’t know what to do? Help please!

I don’t know about your specific model but it shouldn’t be a problem – have a look at this:

You need to set #1 cylinder to TDC, top dead center, by hand rotating the crankshaft. Timing mark in pulley should align with timing mark on engine block. Then, you manually rotate camshafts to align all the marks where they belong.
Then you do your thing and hand spin engine several times, to make sure everything aligns properly. As #1 is at TDC twice, once on exhaust and once on intake.
Have spark plugs removed, it makes it easier to spin engine. Also, NEVER spin pulley counterclockwise. They have directional main seals, you’ll bust them.

There is probably a tool for syncing the cams(or cam, I dont know what your dealing with) to the crank.

Did you look up how to time the engine before you started? If you don’t need a tool all of the cam and crank gears should be marked and have something that they align with.
