I have a 99 Eclipse Spyder GS automatic. I never set the first cylinder to TDC before I pulled the head off and rehoned it with a Dremmel flexshaft and a brass brush. After cleaning and painting, I put everything back together( I zip tied the camshaft gear to the belt to keep it in place) and torqued the head down . I never thought about where the valves should be positioned before I put it back together. I fired the engine it ran rattling for a few seconds and shut down. I turned the key again and got a ticking buzzing sound with no crank. I used the scanner and came back with a crankshaft position sensor code. That sensor is beneath the timing cover which is but up against the driver’s side wheel well, I can’t even get my hand down in there let alone any tools. None of these gears have timing marks… so my question is… does anyone know how to reach, read, readjust or set the time to this engine without pulling it? the crankshaft has a timing mark on the plastic cover for TDC and 2 stamped circles on the crankshaft pulley, but I don’t know if these holes are intended for a tool like an angle grinder wrench. HELP PLEASE!
