      Hello all,

was cleaning the carbon from civic SI 06 throttle valve and noticed that there is a gap in throttle valve.

Is there suppose to be a gap or closed all the way.

I don’t want to install it and find out I have to adjust it later on

      .

      Many thanks,
      Mike

There should be a small gap for the air to bypass at idle.

There’s always a gap or a passage or a small hole in the wall or a hole in the throttle plate. Usually a gap, to help prevent metal to metal wear and friction.

            Thanks college man and grg8888.

I wasn’t sure if there was suppose to be a gap or not but it does make sense for having it.
