            Sounds like you are on the right track; but when you are replacing the filters, go ahead and pull one of the plugs and see how look. If you see anything strange post on the forums

              The reason I say that is because my inbox is full of people that have removed their throttle bodies to clean them only to have problems after they install them back on the engine.

                  I would check a FSM and trouble shooting that P1522 code. Cam sensors are best checked with a scope. If you dont have a scope, at least be check for power and grounds with the aid of a wiring diagram._x000D_
