Would anyone care to discuss/share thoughts on injector seal kits vs. replacing the entire injector.

Replacing injector seals isn’t really that difficult of a job. No more so than swapping out any other o-ring at least. Just make sure that you relieve fuel pressure before you go taking things apart, and lube the new o-rings before putting them on the injectors, and before reinstalling them into the engine. Gasoline is the recommended lubricant for injector o-rings to the best of my knowledge, but I will admit to not having done that job in years, so my memory may be hazy on that fact. Just be very careful not to damage the new o-rings during installation, and be sure to keep everything clean during the job, since you really don’t want to get anything down where the injectors sit that could potentially damage the seal.

As for replacing the entire injector, I’d only do that if they weren’t spraying right, meaning they were either not spraying enough fuel at the right time, or they were leaking.

I also don’t agree with replacing all injectors when just one goes bad. I would stick to the one that is leaking, and if you can replace an O-ring gasket and everything works great, why throw away the extra dolleros?

I would just replace the 1 injector is that’s the issue and if your trying to stay within a budget.

If you had a scope, you could check the current ramps of each injector to determine if there on there way out or not.

There easy to replace as stated in the previous posts. I used engine oil as a lube to help seat the new o-rings on the injectors i installed on a Volvo.

Putting injector seals on is fairly simple and doesn’t take that much time. I don’t normally see Honda injectors go bad so much as leak as you say. I know this video is on cleaning the EGR passages however I do remove the fuel rail and show how I handle injector seals.
