Things you see in a shop, makes you shake your head. Right now I have chevy in the shop with an intermittent no-start. It has the 4.3L, which has poppet injectors still. 40psi and she wont fire. Dropped the tank and I think I found my problem.

I worked in a ghetto shop for about 4 weeks before I couldn’t take it anymore. It wasn’t uncommon to see stuff half asses together. By far the worse was a Pontiac Bonneville with 6, yes 6 compression fittings between the master cylinder and the right front wheel. I couldn’t believe that this hood rat was driving around putting his family and everybody else in that kind of danger.

We had something similar, and the customer flat out accused us of doing it so we can scare them out of money. Thebscary part is people drive those cars on the same roads as us.

Sunday we had a guy come in with his Genesis turbo 4 door. Oil was all over his splash gaurd, like someone didn’t tighten a drain plug or oil filter. He went to Firestone, another Hyaundai dealership, and then us.

He asked if he could come out and watch us work on it. I asked my boss and he said sure. Come to find out the other places wouldn’t show him what’s wrong. They told him he needed a new head, head gasket (of course), a new turbo, oil pan and a few other things.

We brought him out, explained he had a few feed lines leaking and showed him. Explained we had the parts and we could have it all fixed up in an hour.

He was blown away. I forgot to snap a pic. I honestly though he blew a gasket or cracked the head on his engine.

He was relieved when we showed him everything.
