So, my work truck has a Thermo King MD-300. for the past days I’ve been getting codes 07- Engine RPM Sensor 63- Engine Shutoff Reason Unknown and 84- Restart Null. I’m able to clear codes 63 and 84, but not 07. The RPM sensor I checked and it’s working properly. The TK engine will usually run for an hour after unplugging the electric motor from over night, then the RPM’s start to fluctuate and then the RPM’s get real low and then engine sounds like it’s fighting to stay alive and then shuts off. I reboot the system then it runs fine for the rest of the day. Is this a common problem or is it something that needs deep investigation?

Thanks, But I already knew what the codes meant. i figured even though it’s an automotive forums, maybe some people would know about Thermo kings. The refrigeration mechanic at my work place doesn’t know what is wrong with the reefer unit. He sid everything checks out so far. But I don’t know what’s gonna happen tomorrow, he said it needs to be torn apart but I was never told when. he told me to just go about my day until then. i just hate having to worry about the equipment I’m given. The truck is a brand used but great Freightliner M2. The reefer has been great until this week. it’s set to be at 30 degrees but won’t go below 45 degrees.

He did, but he couldn’t find anything. he said they’ll wait until it won’t run no more to take the truck off the road to fix it. That’s how the dairy rolls though, not my damn money. BTW, when i showed up for work this morning, they without telling me gave my truck to another driver for today. But I was put in another really good truck. I’m supposed to my truck back Monday morning. But I don’t know if they’ll keep it off the road to figure out what the hell is wrong with it because I called the driver who had the truck to let him know about the reefer unit and he said he already had to reboot it a couple times so yeah.

College Man, I’m also the same guy who had the P.O.S International 4900’s and kept posting threads about them a few years back. You were great help in finding out what was wrong with the trucks. The 93′ truck is still in the process of getting a full body restoration and rebuild. It gets put to the side a lot.

In your area, are you experiencing the high heat and humidity that many parts of the country are suffering with this summer? If so, maybe the reefer system can’t keep up if it’s borderline flaky.

Yea, I live in DE. we got that high humidity and the heat wave. But, all the reefer units should stay between 40 and 35 degrees still. I’ve been doing this for 6 years now. I know what my temp should read. Also, before this past Monday, my reefer unit was keeping up, in fact, on Monday morning, Dan, the reefer mechanic at my workplace said my reefer was doing the best out of all the units because he was asking what the temps were to all the drivers just to get a feel for how everything is going. At the time I believe it was 38 degrees. i blame all this crap on him because he hexxed the unit by saying it’s running great. the unit should not be going above 50 degrees and yesterday it went above 60 degrees and I sat and waited at a stop for an hour for it to get down to 40 degrees. I know how these machines should run. I just don’t know what’s wrong with mine. The truck I was in today had an older unit and it was doing great staying steadily at 35 degrees. That’s when I open up the side door several times while serving my stores and restaraunts.
