The Way Cars Smell

Yet another video that was inspired by Barrett Jackson. Although the show was just a catalyst. I’ve always been into how vehicles smell, especially old ones. It’s almost like I transport to a different time with some vehicles. Especially ones with old vinyl.

Old leather smell I don’t mind but dog smell is shocking…. I have two dogs (and clean my car regularly) but only notice it when its raining and I have the windows up….
I do remember when I was younger in the 80’s jumping into my 71 valiant charger with all vinyl and loving the smell.

I’ve noticed that my car (98 Subaru Impreza) has a particular smell that I’ve noticed a couple of Subarus I’ve been in and around have and thought it was strange. I always wondered as well if I was weird because I could pick up the different scents of the automotive world. For example the smell of gear oil 80/90 versus motor oil 15/40 or the semi sweet smell ATF has.
