I think I know exactly what you mean. In my shop, Metallica’s The Unforgiven is known as the ‘mechanic’s theme song’. They’re not the songs exactly as intended, but the lyrics have so much signifigance to our line of work that interpreting them from our perspective can’t help but seem like it’s made to be. ‘Lord I hope this day us good’ is like the mechanic’s equivalent to saying the pledge at the beginning of the day back in school.
