      Good evening,

It has been a while since I was last here I have been busy Getting elected to the NH state house and going to work for New York Life. I have however not finished working on my project truck the 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L, the current project is the K&N Air Intake 57-1511-2, I have it it appears installed, mostly, the intake tube is having trouble fitting over the throttle body and screw down stud is offset from center. I may have a little pirate air coming in from behind back side of the throttle body.

Does anyone have any advice on how I might resolve this issue. I spoke with K&N this afternoon who believe that the Throttle body on the 2nd Gens built in Mexico are different from the Throttle bodies on US built Rams.

I could use advice, there is very little clearance and I have short arms so reaching the back of the engine bay is difficult at best. If anyone is the Southern NH area and can come out and give me a hand I wouldn’t mind that either.

      Thank you

Can you post some pics of the problem? Sounds like you may have to get a U.S. tb.

I’ll grab some shots shortly, I’m going to run to a Used Auto Yard and see if I can find a US built 5.2 or 5.9l Ram that still has its throttle boy

Here are some images I managed to take, as you can see the Intake is leaning forward and the clearance to the top of the firewall and cowl is very tight.

System is giving me error code 500 when trying to add images to the thread.

I managed to loosen the intake bolt enough to level out the intake tube so that it is all the way on the supplied gasket and then tightened it down. It does not slip over the gasket but rest on top of the gasket.
